# FAQ

## Setup

**Do I need Shopify Plus?** No. The cart widget works on **every** Shopify plan. Only the optional checkout block requires Plus (checkout extensibility).

**Will it work with my theme?** Almost certainly yes — FlexCover auto-detects placement in the cart drawer and cart page of popular themes, including third-party cart drawers. Edge cases are solvable with custom anchors (see [Cart widget](/flexcover-protection-plans/storefront/cart-widget.md#custom-anchors-advanced)) or a quick chat with support.

**Can I offer more than one plan?** Yes — any number, any mix of types (e.g. shipping protection + warranty + return insurance at once). Each gets its own row in the cart.

## Money

**Who keeps the protection fee?** You do — **100%**, forever. FlexCover charges no commission on protection revenue. See [Revenue and claims](/flexcover-protection-plans/revenue-and-claims/revenue-and-claims.md).

**Who handles claims?** You do, under the terms you write. This is what keeps 100% of the revenue yours: there's no insurance company taking a margin in between. Most stores find claims are rare and cheap relative to the revenue.

**Where does the money physically go?** Into your normal Shopify payouts — protection is a product line on a regular order, not a separate payment flow.

## Behavior

**Can customers remove a pre-selected plan?** Yes — [Enabled by default](/flexcover-protection-plans/protection-plans/plan-behavior.md) plans come pre-ticked but can always be unticked. The only untouchable mode is **Auto-added**, which you choose deliberately per plan.

**Which price does the customer actually pay?** Exactly the one displayed in the cart, to the cent. Plans are backed by hidden products with one price variant per price point, so the charged line always equals the displayed price. On percentage plans the fee lands on the rung of the fee ladder nearest the exact percentage.

**What if the cart value changes after the plan is added?** The widget re-prices continuously — when the subtotal crosses a tier or changes the percentage fee, the protection line is swapped for the variant matching the new subtotal. Display and charge stay in lockstep.

## The hidden products

**Why are there new products in my catalog?** One hidden, unlisted product per plan — it's how protection rides Shopify's native order pipeline. Customers never see them. Don't delete them while the plan is active, and don't reprice them in the Shopify admin (price edits are auto-reverted). See [How plans appear in orders](/flexcover-protection-plans/orders-and-fulfillment/how-plans-appear-in-orders.md).

**Can I edit the hidden product's title or images?** Leave them to the app — the order line the customer sees uses the plan's display name, not the product title.

**Do the hidden products affect SEO or my collections?** No. They're unlisted: excluded from storefront search, collections, and recommendations.

## Languages & markets

**Does it work in multiple languages?** Yes — plan names, descriptions and footer text are translatable per storefront language, and the widget serves the customer's locale automatically. See [Translations](/flexcover-protection-plans/protection-plans/translations.md).

**Does it work with Shopify Markets / multiple currencies?** Yes — fees are computed for the customer's market, matching the currency the rest of the cart displays.

## Uninstalling

**How do I remove the widget from my store?** Toggle off the **FlexCover** app embed in the theme editor — the widget disappears from the storefront immediately. To part ways completely, uninstall the app from Settings → Apps; active plans stop being offered, and past orders keep their history.
