# Welcome to FlexCover

**FlexCover: Protection Plans** is a Shopify app that lets you offer protection plans — shipping protection, extended warranties, return insurance, or anything custom — right inside the cart and checkout. Your customers add coverage with one tap, and **100% of the protection revenue is yours**.

Unlike insurance-based apps, FlexCover is a *self-funded* protection program: you define the plans, you set the prices, you keep every dollar of protection fees, and you handle the occasional claim. There is no insurance company in the middle and no revenue share.

## What you can do

* **Offer multiple plans at once** — e.g. *Shipping Protection $3.99* + *2-Year Warranty (10% of order)* + *30-Day Return Insurance $4.99*, side by side in the cart.
* **Price any way you want** — a fixed amount, a percentage of the order, or a tiered price that changes with cart value.
* **Stay in control of the experience** — optional plans customers tick themselves, plans pre-selected by default, or plans added to every order automatically.
* **Sell in your customers' language** — every plan's customer-facing copy can be translated per storefront language.
* **Skip the busywork** — protection line items can be marked fulfilled automatically, the moment you'd want them to be.

## How it works in 30 seconds

1. You create a protection plan in the FlexCover admin.
2. FlexCover quietly creates one hidden, unlisted product in your catalog to represent the plan.
3. Customers see your plans in the cart (and checkout, on Shopify Plus) and add them like any other item.
4. The order lands in your Shopify admin like any other order — protection revenue included — and can be fulfilled automatically.

Please be assured: although FlexCover adds products to your catalog, they are hidden from your storefront, collections, and search. Customers only ever see them as the protection line in their cart.
